Boots McBlog bio picture

bonjour, y'all!

I'm a dash of Jackie O.  A pinch of Elly May.  A splash of Quelques Fleurs.  A jigger of pickle juice. My friends call me Boots. My name is JoBeth.  I'm just a southern girl who adores a great tune, a delicious meal, beautiful flowers, a frilly dress, and the perfect shoe. I'm married to a curly haired boy I call "The Angler".   I am a registered dietitian who loves burgers and chocolate chip cookies.   I survived being President of the Junior League.  I'm a daydreamer, an avid i-pod shuffler and a novice photographer.  I love to laugh.  I'm often silly with a heapin' helpin' of sappy. I'm blessed beyond measure and amazed by God's grace.  I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, but I try to keep my high heels walking in faith one step at a time.  It's been an incredible adventure so far.

Like all true southerners, I come from a long line of storytellers. My favorite stories paint pictures.  And great pictures tell stories. I hope to accomplish both on this blog.  So,  grab yourself a glass of sweet tea, kick off your Manolo's and sit a spell on my virtual veranda. Flair and folly awaits.

Do tell!

Shin Digs: ¡Una Fiesta Fabulosa!

Un Noche Perfecto.   Flowers, Food,  Friends   –   ¿Que Mas? (what more?)     Last Friday evening I had the privilege of capturing how this seamlessly pulled together.   Inspired by Nature created a floral wonderland that would make anyone cry ¡Ole´!   The catering genius of Trios provided a Mexican feast that was beyond delicioso!    Even the mariachi band commented that the Chicken Enchiladas were the best they had ever had.  And don’t even get me started on the desserts.    Despite the threatening skies and the periodic torrential rains,  nothing could dampen the spirits and the love felt at this party hosted to encourage a young couple as they embark on their new life together.    Enjoy this peek at the fiesta!

puppies, posies, and politics

It’s not everyday one gets to spend the afternoon with a Duchess,  A first Lady, and a Political Powerhouse.   Katy is a political fundraising consultant who found a brief moment  during this busy election for a little girl time.  She asked me to take a few pics of her precious puppies.

You may remember Miss Eleanor.    What a smile!

This is her sister Duchess.

They were perfect little ladies….

Of course, I couldn’t resist taking some shots of this  All American Beauty…

Katy, Eleanor, and Duchess thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon.    Anytime you want to hang out,  it totally gets my vote!

belle vie artistry: Tanarah

A 12 hour day surrounded by flowers, fashion, and the most fun, creative people I have ever met – sigh –  if only every Monday was as A-MAZING as the one I had this week.   Belle Vie Artistry,  my little venture with photog partner Heather,  shot three styled sessions for Distinctive Designs by Tanarah.  We can’t show you all the gorgeousness that ensued just yet as they will be unveiled with Tanarah’s  new print and web design…Oh – and  for a wee little submission to the super wedding blog Style Me Pretty.     Stay tuned to our blogs, because as soon Heather and I have the “ok” to share,  we are going to pour on the pretty.  You won’t want to miss it.

april in la petite roche

what a difference seven days can make.  A week ago, tulips heralded the glories of the season.  Today, they fade and allow the azaleas to take center stage.  In just a few weeks, peonies will emerge with their ladylike grace.   Each act of spring leaves me breathless in her beauty.  Sinatra sung of April in Paris.  I’ve never been to Paris.  But , I have known the charm of spring – in a little french settlement on the banks of the Arkansas River.

Ask any southern girl about her longest, most loyal relationship and she’s bound to reply it’s with her hairstylist. Jennifer is one of the best…and she’s gorgeous to boot. Look at those eyes! Not to mention her fab blonde locks. She asked me to get a few shots for her upcoming website. Her clients will be able to set up their appointments online. Accessibilty and beautiful hair? — I say that’s just shear genius!
